The heat beta link , often referred to as a heat sink (HS), is a crucial component in thermal management systems for electronic devices. Its primary function is to dissipate heat generated by electronic components, such as CPUs, GPUs, and power transistors, ensuring these components operate within safe temperature limits. By transferring heat from the component to the surrounding environment, typically through conduction, convection, or radiation, heat sinks prevent overheating, which can lead to reduced performance, malfunction, or permanent damage. Effective heat sink design involves maximizing surface area, using materials with high thermal conductivity, and optimizing airflow around the heat sink to enhance cooling efficiency. In modern electronics, heat sinks are essential for maintaining reliability and longevity, particularly as devices become more powerful and compact.

Hi DenisB79,

I understand the frustration with your Nest thermostat not turning on the heat link, but I am here to help! Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Reduce interference: Move the thermostat closer to the Heat Link and turn off any nearby Wi-Fi devices.

Reset the Heat Link: Press and hold the button on the Heat Link for 25 seconds twice. You should see a slowly blinking LED after.

Retry options after H71 message: Go through all the options you receive after the H71 message.

Restart the thermostat: Press the display for 10 seconds to restart.

Wired Connection:

If you want to temporarily use a wired connection for setup:

Use a single-core wire with a maximum diameter of 2mm.

Connect the thermostat and Heat Link using the T1 and T2 terminals. This carries 12V DC, so no heavy cables are needed.

With the thermostat connected over wires:

Perform a factory reset.

Go through the setup and ensure both wired and wireless connections are established.

Remove the wired connection.

Important: Always turn off power when working with the Heat Link wiring.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Chris

Mmmmm, not to sure the below answer is really answering your question!

Are you saying there are no lights on the Heat Link, but you have power to the Heat Link?

OK understood, in which case so long as you have tested ALL power to the Heat Link, then you most likely have the component problem. Does Google do anything about that, well who knows but you need a Mod to help you further.

The first question I would ask is how old is the thermostat?

I assume you are in France???

That makes your thermostat over 2 years old, Googles warranty is 2 years, BUT where are you located?
