How to Disable Eco Temperatures for Real

I would like to disable Eco Temperatures (they increase my energy draw from the grid, and thus increase my cost). I've turned Eco Temperatures off, but the thermostat continues to adjust my temperature settings. How do we really turn this feature off?

Thanks for replying, Happy to help you turn off ECO mode and automatic temperature changes on your Nest thermostat! Here's a step-by-step guide:

Disable ECO Mode: Go to Settings > ECO. Then, select Heating or Cooling (depending on which you want to adjust) and turn the ring until you see "Off." Finally, tap Done.
Turn Off Auto-Schedule: Go to Settings > Nest Sense > Auto-Schedule > NO and finally > Done.
Disable Home Away Assist: Go to Settings > Home Away Assist and select Stop Using.
finally go to settings > reset > schedule > reset.

By following these steps, your thermostat won't automatically adjust the temperature based on ECO mode or Auto-Schedule.

Thanks for the support. I had already done (1) above. While doing (2) and (3) reduced the frequency at which the thermostat overrides my instructions, it has not eliminated the problem. How do I convince the thermostat to keep the temperature I have set?

Thanks for replying and following the steps! Once you've completed them, your thermostat should be in manual mode.

Here are a couple of additional things to consider that might be affecting your thermostat settings:

Take a look at this link about home away assist to learn more about Home Away Assist, a feature that can automatically adjust your thermostat based on your presence. Check if you have any feature active and you can disable.

I don't understand this response. Do you mean to say that establishing a schedule automatically enables adjustments that will cause the thermostat to deviate from that schedule? That sounds unreal - I must have misunderstood. Could you please clarify?

I apologize if I didn't explain this clearly earlier. By default, the Home Away Assist feature is active when you set up your Nest thermostat. This feature uses location services to detect if someone is home and adjusts the temperature accordingly. That's why I sent you the link about Home Away Assist. On the link, you can learn how to check if this feature is active and how to disable it.

Let me know if checking Home away settings in your Nest app fixes it.

Disabling Home Away Assist does not fix the problem. I believe these thermostats cannot be put into manual mode. That's a shame, since their algorithm actually seeks to increase cost and load on the grid. This would be much less of a problem if it wasn't working against my interests as a consumer...

Hi Manuel - thanks for the reply. I've actually got the process, and the thermostat says that Eco Mode is disabled, Auto-schedule is disabled, and Home Away Assist is disabled. If this is not the complete list of actions to be taken to defeat automatic temp adjustments, let me know what I've missed. That would be better for the rest of the community that is looking to solve this problem.
