Hi @Hulkquelez,

Thanks for posting here in the community! I'm happy to help with your concerns about the wire connected between the RC and RH terminals!

It seems like a jumper. This wire connects two thermostat terminals together (often Rc and Rh), but they aren't "two label" wires. Jumpers aren't connected to the system and don't run back into the wall. Learn about thermostat jumper wires.

To better assist you and see if your thermostat is compatible with your system and if you have an AC system, would you mind sharing a photo of your current wiring installation and the make and model of your HVAC system?

In addition, you can check if your system is compatible by going to the Compatibility Checker. Just remember, if your current thermostat has a jumper wire, do not enter it into the compatibility checker or the app to get a wiring diagram during setup.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Current of thermostat has a wire connected between RC AND RH but no direct wire from the wall for RC but it does for RH. How to make sure I have AC on the Nest install?

The Learning Thermostat will automatically add an internal jumper between the Rc and Rh terminals so just connect it to the Rc terminal
