topic Thermostat not controlling properly in Nest Thermostats

We have 2 Nest thermostats. One upstairs and one down. About a month ago whenever the upstairs one turns on the downstairs air starts also and won’t click back off until we turn the upstairs thermostat off. The downstairs thermostat can be set to off but the air still comes on. The temp will be 69 downstairs and 78 upstairs because the air downstairs runs the whole time we are trying to cool the upstairs. Any ideas to fix this would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Hi GiGi2020,

Thanks for posting in the community! Sorry to hear about this situation of your 2 Nest Thermostats running at the same time when you turn one on. No worries, help is here! I'd like you to ask a few questions about your system:

Can I get a photo of both Nest Thermostat wiring?

Have you checked if all the wires are fully inserted in your Nest Thermostat and at the HVAC board?

Do you have a C-WIRE in both thermostats?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Axel.
