My Nest thermostat was installed in August 2017. I have an ICP air conditioner manufactured in 2016. Where I live it has been very hot with a heat index of about 100 degrees. This I’ve noticed that the temperature of my house constantly rises when the thermostat is cooling, about 3 degrees over two hours. My lines are not frozen, and all the vents are open. I changed my filter the other day after seven weeks. Help?

Hello @Jp114506,

Thanks for reaching out about your Nest thermostat not cooling your home as expected. I understand how frustrating it can be during a heat wave. Let me help you with this issue: temperature increases when cooling. I would like to ask you:

What type of thermostat do you have?

There could be a few reasons why your Nest thermostat is struggling to keep up with the high temperatures, even though it's set to cooling mode:

Thermostat Settings: Review your Nest thermostat settings to ensure the target cooling temperature is set appropriately. You might also consider adjusting the fan speed to improve air circulation.

Thermostat scheduled: Check the schedule generated on your thermostat, and you can try deleting it, or you can follow the steps on the next link: Temperature schedules for the Nest Thermostat.

Please keep me posted or let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

All the best,

Hi,

All the scheduling is turned off. The only fix I've found is to reset the thermostat, but I don't want to keep doing that every few days.......any other ideas?
