Thermostat changing settings on its own

I have a Nest in my 2nd home. For some reason, I looked at the a/c usage today & noticed that it had changed from Eco to sleep mode last night and ran at 67° for about 19 hours. No one is there and it has been set on Eco mode for months. What made it switch to sleep mode & why did it not end when the sleep mode ends at 8am? How do I prevent this from happening again?? I don’t want to have to check it every day!!!

To help me understand the issue better, I have a question:

When did the temperature start to change unexpectedly?

In the meantime, I recommend you to follow the next steps:

Reset schedule.
- Open the Google home app.
- Tap Settings > Schedules
- On the upper-right corner of the app, tap the three dots icon. Select Clear weekly schedule.

Create a new schedule.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap Settings > Schedules.
- Tap Add to create a new schedule.
