    <description>&lt;P&gt;Factory resetting the thermostat removes all settings and removes the account. You're saying that's not happening when you go to Settings &amp;gt; Reset &amp;gt; All Settings?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi - I recently moved into a home with a 2nd gen learning thermostat.&amp;nbsp; The thermostat is registered to the account of the former occupants.&amp;nbsp; I have &lt;STRONG&gt;tried resetting the thermostat to factory settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;, but this did not work.&amp;nbsp; I c&lt;STRONG&gt;hatted with Google support&lt;/STRONG&gt; about this issue and was instructed to look for Settings&amp;gt;Reset&amp;gt; Account.&lt;STRONG&gt; There is no "Account" in their reset menu&lt;/STRONG&gt; (only "restart," "network," and "all settings"--I have tried each of those). They then &lt;STRONG&gt;told me that they could do nothing&lt;/STRONG&gt;, meaning my thermostat could be controlled by someone who does not live here, and I could not override it.&amp;nbsp; They kept telling me I could manually adjust the thermostat, but I am now constantly changing it.&amp;nbsp; I find it odd that if I am physically where the thermostat is, I can do nothing to disassociate an account from it.&amp;nbsp; Google Support advised me to buy a new thermostat.&amp;nbsp; I don't own this place--it's not an option. I am pretty disappointed in how that exchange went.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I found a thread online that suggested I turn the dial to "settings" and then press in until the thermostat restarts, and then go to settings&amp;gt;reset&amp;gt;account, but "Account" did not magically appear in the menu once I manually restarted.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Surely, I am not the first person to encounter this. Surely, Google has a solution for this challenge...yes?&amp;nbsp; Anyone have any suggestions for me?&amp;nbsp; I am all ears.&amp;nbsp; I&lt;/P&gt;</description>
