Nest Thermostat (2020) unable to connect sensors

Hello I have a nest thermostat (2020) and I just purchased the 1st gen temp sensors. When I tried to add the sensors it says the thermostat is not compatible. Am I just doing the set up wrong or does the 1 gen nest sensors only work with the learning and E models? Thank you

The Google Nest Thermostat (2020) only has basic functions and is not designed to support any Nest Temperature Sensors.

The Sensors are only compatible with the Nest Thermostat E, Nest Learning Thermostat, 3rd and 4th Gen

My point was, they do NOT work in other countries only USA!! You didn’t mention that!

How do you know if you have the right nest thermostat? I just got mine and it only says Nest Thermostat.
