Google Temp Sensor Won’t Connect

I had to replace the battery in my Google Temperature Sensor, and now I can’t get it to reconnect. I tried removing and reconnecting the thermostat, tried moving right next to it, tried the connection procedure dozens of times, and it won’t work.

Perform a factory reset: Please remove the battery from the sensor for 5 minutes and then put it back.
