My question is, does the nest need the display for the landlord to control the temperature, or can I remove the display and hide the base behind a painting, because it's an eyesore and I have no control over the temp in my apartment anyways. Obviously there's a sensor on it and it won't read accurately if I move it. I'm ok with that.
