Feature Request: Time of Day Heat Source

PNW, PSE. I have a nordic heat pump (Main) with natural gas furnace (Aux). I'd like to program schedule to switch to Aux during 2 time-frames in a day when electricity is prohibitively expensive (7-10am, 5-8pm, daily).

I understand Google won't be investing money into this feature just because of a single customer, so let me point out there's many Reddit threads where people look for this feature.

At the bare minimum, it would be nice if the public APIs could allow me to write my own program to switch between aux and main heat source.

If changing the Android app is a problem, maybe exposing this feature as API could enable Samsung SmartThings to do it, it does support it with Ecobee.

I really like Nest in other areas but lack of this feature is a deal breaker and I'll be forced to switch to Ecobee if I don't find a solution to automate this.

Thanks in advance and hope Google engineers find this post and it won't be ignored by the product team.

I ended up switching to Ecobee and configuring Aux during certain hours using Samsung SmartThings.
