That’s the problem, I’m currently at 47% RH and it’s still humidifying. Set point target is 45%.

Nest Humidifier Setpoint

Hello,

Just bought and installed an aprilaire 720 in the house and it’s working great. Integrated it into the 4th gen thermostat but I had a question about the setpoint. I currently have it set to 45% but the thermostat got up to 52%RH and it was still trying to add humidity into the home. I have the unit set up as a standalone unit that will require the fan to come on when enabled.

Is something faulty in the system or is there some control logic that is trying to get it higher? When I changed the setpoint to 40% it shut off.

Any thoughts or experiences would be great.

There’s no way to keep it at 45%. However, If it drops below this level or is at 45%, the humidifier will kick in. Otherwise, if the humidity on your nest thermostat shows that it is at 46% or above, it won’t come on.

Hi folks!

@Nexusis, thanks for your assistance.

@TONYpepperon1 thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconveniences that you’ve been experiencing with your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen and your humidifier. I can see that you have set the target on 45% on the humidifier; however, it goes up and gets up to 52%. No worries, help is here.

The Smart Humidity feature uses outdoor weather to automatically adjust your humidifier setpoint; then it won’t follow the setpoint that you manually entered. To turn off the Smart Humidity, follow the next steps:

Set the target again to 45%.

Open the Home app.

Tap Favorites or Devices.

Tap your thermostat, go to Settings, then hit on Temperature preferences, and finally go to Humidity Helper.

Tap the Smart Humidity switch.

In the meantime, you can check the following articles for further information: Set up Humidity Helper on your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen).

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.
