Thermostat E shuts down early if any furnace vents are closed

Installed a new Thermostat E last week, it's working with our furnace but I noticed it keeps giving the "Heads Up" warning during heating. In troubleshooting this, I discovered that it seems to be related to the amount of air pressure in the system. If I ensure every vent in the house is fully open, it runs the whole test without issue. If I have any of them partially or fully closed, I start to run into problems. The more closed some vents are, the earlier it fails (as quickly as 4 minutes).

I really don't want all the vents open fully as it makes my home office (that has computers in it and is always 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house) as well as the small bathrooms much, much too hot to be in comfortably. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation you're experiencing with the vents and your system when these are partially or fully closed. I understand that you don't want to get the vents fully open in some parts of the house. In this case, I need to ask for some information to find a better solution:

What is the error code you get on the thermostat screen?
What type of system do you have? Electrical or gas?
Who installed the thermostat?

No "error code" just the normal "Heads Up" message. Our system is gas and was brand new in 2009. I installed the thermostat, replacing our Ecobee. It was extremely simple as all the needed wires are in place.
