&lt;P&gt;The E299 error means there is a power issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The E299 error is also just for the Google Nest THermostat (2020) and not the Nest Thermostat E.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Did you just install this thermostat?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Double-check that the power to the system is on, that all of the furnace covers are installed correctly, and the 24V fus on the control board in the furnace/air handler isn't blown.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
