Nest Thermostat

The NEST is wired, which means it gets electricity from the wall, but is it losing its charge and not staying connected to the wifi.

Help will be much appreciated.

@Patrick_CaezzaSo, the wiring is fine, as I moved the circular unit from one wall unit to another, and the circular unit didn't function in either place, whereas the functioning circular unit worked in both places.

@Patrick_Caezza Please ask what I mean about the circular unit before you say you can't help without knowing how its wired.

The circular unit is the removable nest unit, the one that you use to set the temperature, control all settings, etc. It pulls out of the wall unit. The wall unit is what is wired into the wall. If you use different terminology for these things, let me know. It. seems I can't attach pictures to show you what I mean by either, which seems like a flaw in your support system.

The pictures on the amazon listing for a nest are what I'm referring to as the circular unit.

What I'm saying is that I have 3 NEST devices. in my house. And I have only one disfunctional nest unit (the circular one that I use to set the settings). When its plugged into any wall unit, it doesn't work. When any of the working units are put into any of the wall units, they work. This is a basic troubleshooting technique to isolate what is wrong, whether its the wiring of the wall unit or its the actual nest device (the circular one). And it seems quite clear to me the wiring is not at all related to the malfunctioning given my troubleshooting.

If you'd like me to send back the circular unit, I'm confident you can plug it into your perfectly wired wall unit, and it will not perform consistently. It work intermittently, but it regularly loses a charge even though its plugged into wall units that charge both my other removable nest devices with no problem.

I hope that helps me explain better what I was unable to explain to you well before.

If you use the correct name for the device, thermostat, you might get better help.

Instead, you take on an attutude.

I'm a volunteer who uses my time to help others based on my many years of installing these and other similar products (over 40 years now).

You are on your own as I now choose to not help you.

@Patrick_Caezza no attitude my friend, I was just trying to communicate clearly, sorry if there was some negativity perceived from your side due to my not communicating as clearly and politely as I would have l liked. You can't hear tone of voice with text, its a terrible way to communicate which is why I think forums like this for support are really bad ways to support products, google should really be paying you for your time not asking you to volunteer.

Can I ask how can I get hold of google support if you are a volunteer, as I need someone who can accept the defective unit by mail.
