High pitched noise from thermostat

I came home yesterday and the nest thermostat is making a continuous high pitched noise. I tried everything on the device and app to turn it off but couldn't and had to take it off the wall because the noise is so uncomfortable.

Would I be correct in saying you have a 3rd generation thermostat? That noise sounds like a battery issue not having enough power to fire up the processor.

Could you send us a video of the sound you're hearing from your Nest Learning Thermostat?
Did you see any error codes in the app you use to control the thermostat?
Have you had any recent power outages?
Are all the breakers in your house turned on?
Are any of the wires damaged?
