Hi Irish44,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that the Nest thermostat is turning on your furnace to reach a temperature of 89 degrees despite being set to 'away.' I'd be happy to help!

To better investigate the inconvenience, I'd like to ask the following:

What is the model of your Nest thermostat? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your thermostat model.

Are you using the Nest app or Google Home app?

Do other members of your household have phones that are attributed to the Home & Away feature, or are you the only one using it for your home?

Is this the first time you're experiencing this situation with Home & Away?

In the meantime, I'd suggest the following:

Verify that your Nest thermostat's Eco mode settings are set correctly. For more information, refer to this article: Learn about Eco Temperatures, Auto Eco and how to change settings.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
