You're very welcome for sharing this information with the community! It's completely understandable that you're frustrated and feel let down by Google's decision to discontinue support for Nest smoke detectors and Nest Learning Thermostat 1st and 2nd generation. It's definitely not the experience early adopters hope for, and the e-waste issue is a valid concern.

Regarding working with high voltage, the best recommendation I can give you would be to contact a local technician or professional installation and service from Nest to avoid any damage to your heating system.

Having been abandoned last month by Google with my smoke detectors, it seems it's the same this month with Gen 1 thermostat. Of course I'm not happy, and I think it's really bad that Google treat their early adopters in such a poor way, when these people are the people that guide others in their purchase decisions. Then there is the unnecessary e-waste they are generating.. Anyway....

I had the offer of a cheap Nest E Thermostat, and it's currently slightly less abandoned e-waste than my Gen 1. I have looked at the existing heatlink wiring and the labelling on the new heatlink is different.

Here is what I currently have on my Gen1 heatlink:

N: Blue

L: Brown

1: N/C

2: :Link Wire from L:

3: Earth

How does this translate to my new wiring notation on my Nest E heatlink with the following terminal names:

C:

NO:

FP:

OT1:

OT2:

Thanks.

There was something in the install guide, however given the amount of hassle I had pairing my heatlink with failed connections (worked in the 14th attempt, despite them being next to each other), I skipped past it, so I got to complete the pairing step whilst I could.
