Give it a few days. I just installed mine this week and it was off about +7 degrees compared to my previous thermostat sitting right beside it, as well as another thermometer I had sitting close by. It has been 5 days and the Nest now shows the same temperature as the other two devices. Why it doesn’t right away, I couldn’t say. But give it a few days and hopefully it will line up like mine.

I’ve read elsewhere others experiencing the same as we did and it also corrected itself for them. YMMV but i hope it works for you!

Just installed my Nest yesterday and it's reading of the temperature is almost 10 degrees off from a temp have I have in a wall thats three feet away. My old job smart thermostat would only be 2-3 degrees different. Right now Nest is showing 75 in my room while my temp gage is showing me 66! I'm thinking of taking this back.

One of the reasons for a higher temp to start is the battery could be charging, and that gives a false higher reading.
