We had power issues last night and now our thermostat says E44. (No power wire detected, R Wire required)

When I try to look up what I should do, it says that error number doesn't exist. But it does exist cuz I'm looking at it on my thermostat! Grrr... Not sure what to do or who to call to help me - it's about to be cold, we have four kids. I need to be able to turn on my heat!
