So I changed the compressor lockout to 20 deg, the compressor turned off bc it 16 deg outside, aux heat started and now the energy dashboard IS showing aux heat usage. I know that the Aux heat was coming on before, but I wonder why it wasn't showing up in the dashboard like it is now?

Well I'm not used to loosing features when I upgrade... so why does Nest gen 4 not show aux heat usage history?! This is a vital feature for troubleshooting HVAC issues. I had hoped that it would become more detailed than the past software versions, ya know, like the ecobee thermostat that lets you view graphs of heat usage broken down into heat, fan, and aux usage. Just sayin... try to keep up guys! Please add this feature and make it better than that silly ecobee!!

The Nest and ecobee thermostats are designed using different approaches.

Nest thermostats are designed for people who want easy-to-use, easy-to-set-up thermostats. Ecobee is intended to be highly customizable, with many options.
