Repeated H1 - Error . Can’t connect to heatlink

I’ve had the set thermostat for over 3years and it’s all worked fine. Recently my connection between the thermostat a nd heat link fails. The WiFi stays connected but I still have the loss of connection.

I be reset and reconnect multi times as per the instruction but after hours or days it then fails again with same H1 error code. FYI everything is in the same place. Nothing new added or installed between the two devices to cause disruption.

Does this mean my equipment is on its way out?

Thanks for reaching out. These type of disconnections may happen due to interference. Make sure that you don't have any smart devices, large metal objects, pipes, etc. near your Heat Link.
Can you tell me what's the distance between the thermostat and Heat Link? Also, what's the distance between the Heat Link and boiler?

I understand why you would ask these question but it’s been working fine for around four years. Nothing set up wise has changed.

I was wondering if you have issues with the heat link stopping working after 4-5years?. I’ve already bought a new nest (still packaged) ready to install in the next few weeks if I can’t resolve this.

Thanks for getting back to me. The thermostats and Heat Links are designed to last as much as possible. As long as you manage to reconnect it, the Heat Link should still be working as expected. The disconnections are caused by wireless or physical interference. Have you noticed a pattern?

It’s been dropping out then reconnecting a few days later. I’ve not had time to install the new model. I’ll up date once this is done.

Thanks for keeping us posted here.

Generally it disconnecting randomly would indicate some kind of issues with interference, or power if there are power fluctuations or short cuts from time to time in the area.

Once you have the new unit installed you can let us know how things go here. If the same behavior comes up again we can take it from there.

Do keep in mind that it is recommended that there be a minimum space of 30 cm between the Heat Link and other objects, like pipes or boilers, and any other objects that could cause interference.
