Nest Thermostat showing it is heating but Boiler does not come on

Any ideas on what I can do to get the heating to come on when I ask it to? The screen is orange and says it is heating but the boiler does not come on. Sometimes it says heating will come on in 2+ hours and I don't know why. Other times it works perfectly . Sometimes it changes to eco which I have not set. In my usage history it is saying that it is on almost all the time - but the reality is that the boiler is not and the house is cold most of the time. I also have the several hours of pre heating mentioned by others. I cannot work out how to fix this.

I just had a similar problem. Restarting the thermostat solved it
