1) First of all, why doesn't the Nest Web app tell me what version, etc my thermostat is??? It should, as this help page requires the thermostat model info.

2) More importantly, why is there no "Hold" button/setting... My old manual timer-based Honeywell thermostat had this, as do lots of other "dumb" and "smart" thermostats...

I saw at least one other hold button complaint on this web site from over 1.5 years ago, and this simple feature has STILL not been made available. Come on Google, adding this feature isn't rocket science or brain surgery...or even rocket surgery!

I agree. I have a schedule set for a "normal" week, but if something changes I want to set a temperature and hold it.

This is ridiculous, that there is no such capability unless I delete my laboriously created schedule.

As I read through the online info on the thermostats, there is apparently a Nest thermostat and a nest "Learning" thermostat that are two different thermostats. They look different and function different...? I am reading that the nest thermostat has a hold option, but the nest learning thermostat does not. I definitely need the "hold" option to So i guess i wasted my money by purchasing the wrong thermostat? DOes anyone know what other features are different between the two thermostats? Id hate to switch it out again only to find another limitation with the other thermostat. I dont use the learning feature anyway, it drives me crazy because we dont walk near the thermostat very often so it thinks we are away all the time.

well, I read that a different model, Nest thermostat ( as opposed to the Nest learning thermostat) does have a hold function. IS that correct, is there any other feature that is different? I already deactiveted the learning function in favor of pre programming temperatures. Can you confirm that a simple "hold temperature" option is available on that
