new nest learning thermostat doesn’t power on

just connected my new nest thermostat and when I put the thermostat on it doesn’t power on. any suggestions on how to fix this?

Sorry to hear about your Nest thermostat but thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community.

Are you getting a 'No power' alert or a code on your thermostat's display or is the display totally black and does not show anything when you press on it? Also, is this the Nest Thermostat or the 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat? It would be a great help as well if you could provide a rundown of the steps you've tried so we can continue where you've left off.
