Blower turns on for 8-10 turns off then back on with heat

Just installed Nest learning thermostat. My system is forced air heat and a/c with humidifier. Since install of nest , when heat is called blower starts and runs for about 8-10 seconds then turns off. Then about 10 seconds after that the the blower turns back on with the heat. Wasn’t like this prior to nest install.

Let's start with verifying your wiring. Do you have a photo of the wire connections from the old thermostat? If so reply and attach both the old thermostat wiring and the wiring with the Nest.

My original nest stopped working, so I temporarily installed a basic tstat until I purchased a new nest. The wiring on the new nest is the same as the old one. The new nest stat is working aside from the fact that the furnace blower starts for 8-10 seconds, stops and then starts again until temperature is reached.

@sporfrog, thanks for your help.

Could you go to your Nest Thermostat settings > equipment then select the right heat type and heat source for your HVAC unit. This sometimes is the reason why your system is acting up.

Also, check your wiring, if possible, try to re-strip them to expose new copper wire.

Good morning!

The same thing is happening to our air unit. Heat works fine. testing the air. it kicks on then shuts right off. nest shows a 2 or 2.5 min delay then it does it again.

Move the * (blue wire) to C.
