Help with dual fuel configuration

I had my Nest professionally installed a few months ago. I've got a heat pump with an electric furnace configured as auxiliary heat. After about 3 months, my Nest quit working, the infamous w5 error. They shipped me a replacement, but suggested I pay another $129 to have the new face installed. After a few videos and recording the settings of my first thermostat, I'm pretty confident I have it figured out. However, there is one setting that I'm not sure how to configure for the heat pump. I have the choice of "seasonal" or "every cycle" for heat pump activation (I think). I chose "every cycle" for now as the only articles that reference seasonal are WRT the seasonal savings program. Any info on what this setting is and what the impact is would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

If you're referring to Seasonal Savings on your thermostat, Seasonal Savings is an energy savings program that is available on your Google Nest thermostat in winter and summer.

I am. No one has been able to accurately answer my question. There is zero documentation for this feature in any material provided by Google. My question is not about the seasonal program, it’s a setting in the configuration of a dual fuel system as I attempted to describe in my post.
