Incorrect temperature

Had ac work done when the power was turned back on battery low indicator was on. Checked to make sure there were not batteries in my nest and put it back on. It went back on tighter than it had been?? Now the temp isn’t right and it seems to run constantly. Before reset showed 74• Reset the nest but that did not fix issue it’s showing 80• now but there is no way it’s 80 what do I need to do to fix the problem. Can’t have it running 24/7 $$$$

Im having the same problem. It completely shut off while i was on vacation. When i got home I had to take it off the wall and recharge it with a USB...now it's running temporarily and it states its 86 degrees inside the house. It's more like 70 degrees inside. I think the battery went bad and it's overheating. I ordered a new authentic battery. Hopefully that will do the trick. If i put my fan to it, it cools the thermostat down to normal temperatures as well...
