Configuration is two Nests, two zones (EWC zone panel) with gas forced hot air heat plus A/C. Conventional R-W-Y-G-C wiring (G zone 1 only).

The zone panel has "seasonal mode" switch to allow heat or cool but not both. This prevents one zone calling for heat and the other calling for cool simultaneously. Thus, the Nest "Heat-Cool" mode is not applicable.

Is there a way to prevent/lock out a user from selecting the "Heat-Cool" mode ?

Hi, Jake.

I have the two thermostats working, but have not determined how to block the "Heat-Cool" mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey aap,

Each mode has their own temp schedule. If you are no longer wanting the heat/cool mode, I would recommend double-checking the schedule for that. I have found an article that provides more details on the mode. Please let me know if that helps out.

Best regards,

Hi, Jake.

The challenge is that this is 2-zone, single furnace, single A/C system with a zone control panel. Zone dampers control the airflow triggered by each Nest thermostat. The zone panel (EWC brand) has a static seasonal changeover setting to block one thermostat calling for heat and the other calling for cool simultaneously. That's why the heat/cool mode of the Nest's are not applicable.

From the docs, I deleted all the "schedule" events for Heat/Cool mode. However, when that is done, the mode defaults to a "Comfort" range of 70º heat, 75º cool.

It is therefore desirable to block the customer from switching to the heat/cool mode.
