I have a Nest E gen1. Everything was fine until my AC failed. The HVAC man replaced the old AC condenser with a heat pump (for AC only). Now it runs but produces no cold air. There is no wire in the o/b connection. Could this be my problem?

Hi david152,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with calling for cooling. You're correct. If you have a heat pump system, there should be a wire connected to the OB terminal of your Nest Thermostat. This is the wire that controls the reversing valve of your system. You can also click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,
