Recently purchased a temperature sensor for my thermostat. Was able to get it connected and added to my account without issue. A few days later (haven't even had it a month yet), It just went offline. I've replaced the battery, and I've moved it to the same room and wall as the thermostat. It still won't reconnect. Anything that I can do, or should I be requesting a replacement?

This is the same issue I had. The only solution for me was factory reseting the thermostat. This is clearly not great because it loses all the "learning" and has to be reconfigured. I'm trying to find another way around this because this is the second time I'm having this issue

Yea this is very weird. At this point I don't care about the sensor since it was a free throw-in with the package I found. I'm more interested in helping Google figure out what the issue is. Mine works perfectly for about a month before losing connection, but it fails like clock work. I'm trying to work with support and offering to help debug if it's even possible to do so on my end. I asked them if I can run some kind of long term debug mode to capture what's happening. I haven't got a response yet.

My nest is connected with two wires (boiler). I don't have a "C" wire but I've monitored the battery voltage and it's always been above 3.8v. Some folks on reddit mentioned the sensor offline issue is due to thermostat battery voltage but I doubt that's the case. 3.8v should be plenty of voltage and there have not been any low voltage warnings.

This is very helpful information! I was able to work with support and they sent me a new sensor. Unfortunately, I can't get the new sensor to work with the thermostat either. I was going to factory reset my thermostat to give this new sensor a chance, but now that you have confirmed my suspicion of the issue being with the thermostat, I might not bother. In my case having a working remote sensor is not that important, but I also don't want to let this go.

I contacted support and they had me do a "restart" on the thermostat and my sensors came back online. I never noticed the "restart" in the menu but she also said you can hold the ring in for 10 seconds and it will restart. Not sure why the one I have in my business hasn't needed a restart in 5 years or the other two thermostats I own have never hiccupped but this one has done it 3 times in two months but if a simple restart will fix it I guess it's the way to go for now.

Glad you got it working without too much trouble. I thought I tried a restart and it didn't work for me. I could be wrong. I agree with you, something is not right. In about 3 months, my thermostat required 3 factory resets to get the sensor working again. I factory reset mine again and got the new sensor working, if I have trouble, I'll try that tip to reset. I'll contact support again if anything.

My new sensor has been working since Feb 24th. Well over a month. Never had this much time functioning with the old sensor. The other thing to note is that I am not using the sensor schedule feature any more. In the past when I did have trouble I was using the feature. So now I'm not sure if the new sensor fixed it, not using that feature fixed it, or a combination of the two. Anyone having this issue using that feature? Check to see if there is any difference if you stop using sensor schedule and switch sensors manually when needed.

Hi! I have a Nest thermostat and 3 sensors that I purchased about 2 months ago. All was working well until last week when all 3 sensors went offline. I tried everything like you did but then I saw on this forum to reset to factory. Since I tried everything else, I removed the sensors from my app and then did a factory reset on the thermostat on the wall. I also rebooted my internet modem and wifi router.

Then I started the set up again from scratch and it worked just fine. Has been working for a couple of days now so fingers crossed!
