I hooked up a nest thermostat I can only can connect to google home & not nest .. how can I connect the thermostat to nest

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community.

What specific Nest thermostat do you have? Is it the new Nest Thermostat with a mirrored display? If yes, I'm afraid that it can only be set up and managed through the Google Home app. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.
