Nest Learning Thermostat Gen 3 LOW POWER? Battery Not Charging - Maybe?

Installed Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen Learning in June 2019. Also installed of new Goodman HVAC 2.5ton Unit at the same time. (Also replaced downstairs Unit with the same equipment and Thermo. It is all still working without a hitch!) HAPPY! : ) ... ... Last Friday, the thermostat would not turn cooling on and AC blowing warm air. I shut down the thermostat and turned AC off / then on, at the breaker. No cooling. NOT HAPPY! : ( ... Turned off the breaker to AC and called the HVAC guy to report the issue. After about four hours the Thermostat decided to send cool air. I was HAPPY! : ) again. I figured it was a scheduling issue. I reset 'schedule' on the thermostat. The next day, the scenario repeated. I turned Unit off for 5-6 hours. HOT! VERY NOT HAPPY. : (( The HVAC guy could not come. NOT HAPPY some more!! : (> Then, tried turning on HVAC again. For the second time after being shut-off for a number of hours COOL AIR returned! HAPPY AGAIN!! But, later that day. No cool air. NOW, MUCH UNHAPPY ! ": ( (> HVAC guy seemed to be absent ... I repeated my off on sequence .... Cooling again .... but then after about 7 hours later, AC blowing warm air -- AGAIN... NOW, MUCHO NOT HAPPY !! ... Called "experts" at Nest. Experts(???) suggest ... "System okay, but I should add C wire or add Power Connector to Control Board at Unit. Really? Sounds like a bad thermostat!! WHAT IS BEST COURSE OF ACTION HERE?

Thanks for being here in the Google Nest Community.

I am sorry to hear about what's happening with your system. With all the steps you've tried and the symptoms and behavior of your HVAC system leads to one thing, the Nest Thermostat is not getting enough power to send instructions to your AC or heater. This issue is usually resolved by connecting a C (common) wire to your Nest Thermostat. By doing so, it will get a stable power from the AC to function properly.

You could check for an unused wire and check it with your HVAC technician to get further assistance
