Thermostat Location Setting Question

Hi! I just moved into a place, and I was looking at the settings on the thermostat. It’s a terraced house (or town house with two other houses on either side) with three floors. Which setting should I set for the location? I see there’s a setting for multifamily, but I’m not sure if that means that the thermostat thinks it’s heating up the whole block or if I should go with the single family setting? The thermostat is on the ground/lowest floor in the kitchen.

Location is just a name you can assign. It lets you identify where that Nest is in your house.

So if you have a multiple zone system with more than one thermostat you can identify each one. Example 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, Office.

If you only have one thermostat for the entire system then location name is irrelevant.

Oh! I know about the naming of the thermostat yeah. There's another setting that's under the same place as the geographical location (like the town you're in) where it asks you what type of property is the place (single family home, apartment, etc.) I was wondering how the property settings affect the thermostat. Looking it up, google says they do affect how the thermostat works, but I just can't find an answer on how.

@Thomas8, based on your description, I would suggest selecting Multi-Family as this is used for properties such as duplexes, where multiple dwellings exist in the same house structure.
