&lt;P&gt;Yes, Trane system use the B terminal for their common wires. However if you want to make sure that &amp;nbsp;it is indeed a common wire, you may check where the wire is connected to your HVAC's control board. Also, you can check it on the manual should you still have it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The jumper wire connecting the R to the RC terminal is not needed. Take it off and you should be good to go.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
