Nest 3 setting for vacation renters

We just purchased a Nest Learning Thermostat for our vacation condo in part because of the promotional materials stating that a temperature range could be set and locked for short term renters. I can’t figure out how to do this. When I lock the device, any change at all requires a password.
Our first renters with the Nest in place immediately set the a/c to 67 degrees upon arrival and then turned it down to 64 and kept it at that for the rest of the weekend.
The temps outside were in the 70’s. The a/c ran more in one weekend than in the combined 5 years prior.
Is there any way to avoid this, short of changing it remotely? Or do we learn to just suck it up as just something to expect from renters.

When you set up the PIN lock in the Nest app, it should prompt you to set a temperature range? Once set, anyone can turn the thermostat's ring to change the temperature within the range you set, but that's all they'll be able to do.

Thank you for your response! I haven’t been asked for a range either before or after locking the thermostat but will try a few more times to see what I’m missing.

I found it! Now, I’m not sure I can use it because our management co. Said it will make renters mad and they’ll leave a bad review. Setting an a/c range down to 64 degrees would serve no purpose. Thank you for helping me!

Who air conditions to 64 degrees?? We HEAT to 68 in the winter. Maybe you could set the low range to 70 (as a compromise temp) and put a small card next to the thermostat saying "Due to climate change and to prevent damage to the air conditioning unit, the A/C temperature cannot be set lower than 70 degrees."
