Hi Mark,

thanks so much for the reply. i don't have a C wire. I have installed a nest thermostat (using nest adapter - AC/DC converter) in a cottage he have & it works great (central air heating). Now I'd like to install them in my year-round residence (baseboard hot water). the thermostat power is 50V AC so i'm not sure if the same method used un the cottage would work.

thanks.

Jim

Hi,

i understand that the Nest E or Next Gen 3 are compatible for multi zone applications. Can someone tell me how to wire it. i.e., does the wiring connect to each zone valve? If true, do i need a 24V transformer for each zone valve? Am i missing something? maybe there's a video out there but i haven't found it.

thanks.

Hello JimmiD,

Thanks for reaching out—I'm happy to help.

To check your system's compatibility with the Nest thermostat. Do you have a picture of your system or existing thermostat wiring configurations? If possible, could you send us a pictures? Also, other zoned systems may need a C or common wire to be compatible with the Nest thermostat. This is to deliver constant power and stabilizing the flow of current into the thermostat.

Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Looking forward for your response.

Thanks,

Mark
