Why do presets have 2 temperature options

I do not understand what having two temperature options on the preset actually does.

does this imply that when I run my “comfort” preset that it will both heat and cool my house to achieve those temperatures or does it only run heat when I have heat mode on and cool when cool mode is on?

Not sure how I should go about programming these.

Setpoint temperature high and Setpoint temperature low.

you are defining the max temperature that the nest will hold before turning on cooling, and the minimum temperature, before it turns on heating.

that’s all. Let’s say that you want the home temperature to be set between 65 and 69. You set that, and you don’t need to touching it ever ever.

That still makes no sense. Why would I want my temperature set between 65 and 69. I want one temp consistent until I say otherwise. Not a range.

The temperature range that you're seeing on the thread is for the Temperature Schedule feature. This feature is optional but would help to adjust it to your desired temperature on a specific day and time automatically.
