topic Nest Humidify Options in Nest Thermostats

After much searching I understand that the nest learning thermostat 3 has 2 options that can be set under the humidify options. One says "Hum. + heat" which means humidify only when the heat is on. The second says "Hum. Only" which means I think, that the humidifier is on any time that the thermostat humidity is below the set point ( regardless of whether the heat is on). My question is whether the humidifier would turn on for both cool mode and heat mode or only for heat mode. Some thermostats will only humidify in heat mode and some will humidify in both heat and cool mode, but I can't find any information telling me what the Nest thermostat does.

Any info appreciated

Hi giraffe,

Thanks for reaching out. We don't have an option to run the humidifier in cool mode as air conditioners dehumidify your home by pushing air over your air conditioner's refrigerated coils, cooling and drying the air. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing with us their thoughts. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.

Thanks,

Edward
