Nest login page does not link to Google accounts

I need to allow my wife to turn on the heating using the Nest but to do this, I need to link my Nest to the Home app.

I'm having the exact same issues as the person in this thread which does not look like it's been resolved.

Hi Oeilvert,

I'm sorry to hear you're also having issues inviting your wife as home member for your Nest thermostat. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

Please try the troubleshooting steps here:

Sign in with the same email address in both the Nest and Google Home apps.
On the Google Home app, ensure that you see and can control your thermostat.
If so, add a person to your home by sending an invitation to your wife. Check out this guide on how to invite and accept a home member's invitation.
Once successfully added, open the Nest app on her phone and sign in with the same email account that was used.
