Hi Fassavi,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. To isolate the issue, I would suggest looking into the Heat Pump Balance settings on your Nest Thermostat. You could click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,

I have a heat pump system along with a furnace (Trane brand). Everything went well with installation and during the hot months only using cooling. Where I live (Cincinnati), was really cold last night, probably around 28 or so and I woke up with the house at 64. I went down and looked at the thermostat and the aux. heating was showing up, but it certainly didn't kick in the furnace, so I forced it to emergency heating. I moved to this house in 2020 and I had similar issues in the first winter with the old thermostat from Trane, but a technician came to my house and install a new board to the heat pump and made other adjustments. With the older thermostat the issue was fixed and I had the heat pump switching to furnace whenever the temperatures were below 30.

Do you have any idea of how this can be fixed with the Nest Learning Thermostat? I added my wiring the details to help.

Thank you.

Fabio
