Nest sensor won’t connect to wifi

After a wifi outage lasting a few hours I can’t get the sensor to reconnect to the wifi. I removed the sensor from the app and added it again. I also replaced the battery. I read elsewhere that the problem could possibly be a faulty wifi chip. What do you think?

Hello dawna,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues reconnecting your temperature sensor to the Nest app. Let's sort this out.

To clarify, were you able to reconnect your sensor to your Wi-Fi network? If you haven't yet, please try the steps here:

Move the sensor close to your thermostat.
Restart your thermostat to refresh.
After rebooting. Ensure that it's still connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Proceed by adding the sensor back to the Nest app.
