I tried putting these 5 wires in respective slots on Nest thermostat (Y, G, C, W, R), but the nest did not seem to fire up the furnace. It was blowing cold air instead of hot when the mode was set to heat. What would be the correct Nest thermostat wiring for this system? Thanks.

HI fadikar,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue when you call for heat with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

What is the make and model of your HVAC system?

What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Edward,

I ended up installing a Honeywell smart thermostat and it seemed to work as intended with default wires.

Fadikar
