Hi MRDEVF,

Thanks for getting back to us. No need to use the jumper. You can connect the red wire to R terminal.

I have two thermostats that I want to change with NEST; the first has the following wiring configuration: a white wire going to W; a red wire going to RH; a red jumper cable going from RH to RC; a blue cable going to Y and a green cable going to G; the second thermostat has a red cable going to RH, a jumper cable going from RH to RC, a yellow cable going to W, a blue cable going to Y and a green cable going to G. are they compatible with the NEST thermostat. NOTE: I see a difference with the NEST thermostat cable arrangement which is that the reed cable goes to R ( not RH and RC), the black cable going to G, a white cable going to Y and a green cable going to W.

Your thermostat wiring set up is compatible with Nest. How many terminals are available on your Nest Thermostat terminals? (Where wires will be connected)

Four terminals 5 terminals ( W,RH, RC,Y and G... RC and RC are connected with a drop wire) My doubt is regarding the RH/RC connection since the NEST Thermostat has terminal R .... I assume that RH is for heating and RC is for A/C... Am I right?

Yes, that's right. Does your system have a separate power source for heating and cooling? If not, then try connecting red wire w/o the jumper wire to R. Then, check if your system works.

I am still concern about the wiring comparability since the NEST requires the red wire to go to the R terminal and my existing thermostats show the red wire going to the RW terminal with a jumper wire going to the RH terminal.. Is it going to work?
