Appalling App interface.l

How do I revert to the Nest native interface and avoid using the Appalling Google Home interface. Migrating my Nest device was a huge mistake.

I changed the password today and this seems to have also switched off access to the far superior Nest interface

Distraught !

Yes you are correct, migrating is a huge mistake, well documented around the web since day one.

I use IFTTT, and that was a big NO, do not migrate otherwise you cannot use IFTTT.

Have you tried logging into the old Nest app under Google email? You might have to wait 24hrs plus before the new password is recognised. Failing that perhaps a new email, then try logging into the much better Nest app.

I may have to do this.

The purpose of changing the password was to facilitate change of ownership (House sale)
Would have been good to ensure it was unlinked, although the first app to be deleted on the move will be Google Home !

We use the Google Nest app for our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells, and the Google Home app for our newer cameras and Nest Hubs, using the same Google Account for both. It's Google Nest's 2-app solution.

the ask is simple. I made the huge mistake of migrating my Neat Account to Google Home. I am now served by an inferior interface and poor control of my heating. How do I get back to using the Nest app native interface

How ? Tapping on the nest app forces me to go to Google Home.
I have tried to re-install but the Nest device ia “already associated with an account”

How do I remove that association ?

I need to change the owner email address and the serving network address - different ISP

How can I do this ?

Your Nest Learning Thermostat can be managed in either the Google Nest app or the Google Home app:

"You can control the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E with the Home app after you migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account.

The Nest app also offers full control and settings for the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E."

How does the Google Nest app force you to go to the Google Home app? We use the Google Nest app (using the "Sign in with Google" option) AND the Google Home app to manage our devices, using the same Google Account for both. (I agree that the Google Nest app is far better than the Google Home app.)

I don't know Google Nest's recommended way to change the owner email address. I found this posting in this forum, but it does not address how to change the email address associated with your Nest Aware subscription.

If you are going to change ISPs, Google Nest recommends setting the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old router/modem, because it's not easy to change Wi-Fi settings on Google Nest devices.

If you can't do that, then Google Nest's process is to remove each Google Nest device from the Google Nest app or the Google Home app while still on your old Wi-Fi network, then do a factory reset, and then re-install on the Google Nest app or the Google Home app.
