Hi all -

Just installed the cheaper of the two Nest thermostats. I'd used the learning thermostat in my last house with no issues, so I was surprised to have issues in my new place. Upon installing the unit, it attempts to turn the heater twice in a row, on its own. The first attempt sounds like it only gets the fan to start for a brief second, then it spins down. Before the fan comes to a stop after this failed attempt, it will trigger itself to fire off another effort to get the gas furnace running, at which point I can hear the flame ignite and it's good to go.

The analogy that comes to mind is turning the key to start your car, it doesn't kick over, so you turn it again and it starts right up.

The standard, dumb thermostat this one is replacing did not behave like this, and this is happening every time the furnace starts, not just sometimes. Wires look good, and Google isn't returning any results related to this issue.

Other than it being slightly annoying, I'm a little worried about wear and tear since the furnace is effectively starting twice anytime it kicks on. Any thoughts are welcome!
