Heating Coming on When Not Wanted!

My heating keeps on coming on during the current cold weather when I am out or at night when I dont need it. I think it is because I cant turn it below 9 degrees.

I have turned the safety temperature down to 3 degrees and I dont use any of the ''smart'' functions.

It is costing me a fortune - any ideas? All I want is to be able to control my heating system.

Mine is doing the same. Costing £4 before I even get out of bed.

Ended up turning the thermostat off for now which defeats the objective.

It's true that you can't set temperatures lower than 9 in your schedule (Google, WHY?), but you can set your Eco temperature as low as 4. Turn on Eco mode when you don't want the Nest to heat to 9. Or turn the Nest to Off mode. Or, if you're away during the day, try the presence sensing feature to get the Nest to go into Eco mode automatically. I got advice from heating engineer. Because the house temp was dropping below 9⁰C and outside temp was -8, the heating was coming on. Got around it by turning off the thermostat and manually controlling it with the app.

It is a workaround to a problem that shouldn't be there, but I guess that it is the best way forward that I am going to get. Hopefully google will one day sort this silly problem out properly.
