I have an electric heater. I set my thermostat at 60 for the entire day once I left home and it appears my furnace was continuously powering on just to maintain 60. I just factory reset my thermostat. It’s now looking as if it’s not reading the inside temp correctly.

As we may all know, a lot of us are dealing with the blizzard on the east coast. I live in GA and experience a 1-2sec outage. Since then my best thermostat has not been able to reach my set temperature. I have it set for 75 and the most the indoor temp rises to is 70. Could it be an issue with the thermostat or is it just that cold? I have an electric heating furnace. Appreciate any help, thanks!

Need more info !

Does your furnace run continually, or is it cycling on and off ?

If you set the temperature lower (say, 66), does it maintain that lower set point temp ?

Does the current outside temp influence how warm of an inside temp you can achieve ?

If it's electric heat (and you have acknowledged a power issue), could your utility company have temporarily reduced your line voltage to help them cope with distribution issues, lowering your furnace's BTU output during a period of unusually cold weather ?
