topic Remote restart of Nest thermostat in Nest Thermostats

Each time I loose internet or power (and therefore internet), the thermostat does not restart. If I am home, I have to push the dial and it restarts. If we can connect remotely to power companies for them to control Temps during peak periods. Why don't we have a remote login to restart after a wifi failure? I'm returning to a frozen house because Nest shows 2 days without heat.

Hello Ernieb,

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your feedback. Restarting the Nest Thermostats remotely is not an option. Especially if it drops to the Wi-Fi network, you can't reliably control it. Given this situation, a restart from the thermostat is physically needed to refresh the connection.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Otherwise, we'll lock the thread in 24 hours.

Thanks,

Mark
