I have a Goodman heat pump (heat/cool) with propane back up (emergency heat) for really cold weather.
We’re currently running a Honeywell wireless thermostat that communicates with a base station attached to the furnace. The base station is wired to the furnace.
Honeywell thermostat: TH6320R 1004

Honeywell base station: THM5320R

I am curious if a nest thermostat (any version) with a ‘C wire adapter’ will work with my existing heating system.
I have no wires from my furnace (basement) to my thermostat(upstairs).

Will the nest thermostat communicate directly to the c wire adapter and turn the heat/ cooling on/off?

You do not have any wires to your existing Tstat?

Is it wireless tstat?

The nest needs wires connected to it even with the power connector there needs to be 2 wires from Nest to the power connector device.

What kind of heating system do you have? Do you have AC and heat or is it heat only?

Nest needs wiring. It cannot talk to the honeywell base station.

You would need to snake a 5 conductor thermostat cable to the location you want the Nest.
